Our Story
Nest & Nurture Midwifery was created from a deep belief that every woman deserves to feel safe, supported and empowered during pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.
Founded by Meg Briffa, a proud First Nations woman descending from the Gubbi Gubbi and Wakka Wakka peoples, Nest & Nurture grew from both professional experience and personal journey. Meg began her career as a nurse in general practice, where she developed a strong passion for women’s health and maternal care. After the birth of her third child, she followed that calling and trained as a midwife.
Meg’s midwifery career has been shaped by working in remote and rural communities, including Far North Queensland in Weipa and across the Darling Downs in a Midwifery Group Practice model. Through this work she has seen the power of continuity of care and culturally safe support for women and families.
Nest & Nurture was created to provide care that honours women’s strength, respects culture, and centres family. Our approach is grounded in connection, trust and the understanding that pregnancy and birth are not only clinical events, but deeply personal and cultural experiences.
We are passionate about supporting all women to feel heard, respected and confident as they welcome their babies into the world.
At Nest & Nurture, our goal is simple: to walk alongside women and families with compassion, knowledge and care, creating a safe space where mothers and babies can truly thrive.
